Do you want to relieve tension or pain in your feet & ankles?

Then this is the perfect practice for you to do! If you’er a runner or you’re just up on your feet a lot, standing all day, these easy yin-style yoga stretches will help you to relieve some of the feet & ankle pain or any tension you may be experiencing.

This is also the first yoga video that I’ve filmed in my new yoga room! I hope you like the new set-up, feel free to let me know what you think 💭

You may need a blanket as padding for your knees.

1. Toe Stretch

 From all fours, flex your feet, curling the toes under. Shift your body back, until your hips rest directly on your heels. You may need to manually adjust your pinky toes with your hands. Place your palms on your thighs, back and neck remain long. If this stretch is too intense for you, you can put your hands on the ground out in front of you, on block or even keep your hips slightly elevated to make it less intense. 

Hold for 2 minutes.

2. Ankle Stretch

Sit down on your heels, with the toes pointed back. As a first step, lift up your hips to pull them towards your chin and then sitting them back down. Now place your hands back behind you to lift the shins and knees off the mat. Usually you don’t need to go very far to feel it in this pose. You can stay here, or come down on your elbows to intensify the pose even more. 

Stay for about 2 minutes in this pose.

3. Achilles Stretch

Come to a small squat position, with the feet parallel and hip width distance apart. Your heels stay lifted off the ground even if you can reach them down, otherwise you’ll lose the stretch. Your upper body folds forward and now you should begin to feel a stretch in the back of the ankles,  leading up to the claves.

Hold for 2-3 minutes.
